THEME PARK ADVENTURE: Epcot

EPCOT is a theme park in Walt Disney Resort. This park is dedicated to cultural and technological innovations. It opened on October 1, 1982 and was called the Epcot Center until 1994. Epcot has a World Showcase of 11 different countries with their own pavilions.




WORLD SHOWCASE: AMERICAN ADVENTURE
It is the host pavilion of the World Showcase within Epcot and Disneyland Resort. It is also the name of the show which features the American history.


WORLD SHOWCASE: CANADA
This was designed to remind the people of Canadian outdors. It has a canyon, a waterfall, a pool with fountains, garderns and totem poles. The main attraction here is the O Canada! which features cities and sceneries from Canada.

WORLD SHOWCASE: CHINA

The visitors would enter a large Chinese gate which would lead you to the wonderful world of China. It features a lot of temples, one of them is the Temple of Heaven, which is also the entrance for their main attraction, Reflections of China. It showcases the sceneries and history of Ancient China.

WORLD SHOWCASE: FRANCE

This was centered around the theme of a Paris neighborhood with fountains and pools. It also has a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Disney characters Belle, Beast, and other characters from the movie often make appearances here. The characters in Hunchback of Notre Dame also appers here frequently.



GERMANY

The original design of the Germany pavilion, called for a boat ride along the Rhine River. Disney characters such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs make appearances here often.




ITALY

The Pavilion are full of buildings with Roman and Ventian architecture. Pinocchio make daily appearances here in the Pavilion.


JAPAN

The Japan pavilion is one of the original World Showcase pavilions since the 1970s. The entrance to the pavilion is a Japanese pagoda. It is filled with Japanese pools and gardens. At the end of the pavilion, is a Japanese Castle which leads to displays of Japanese culture.




MEXICO

This is where the nightly fireworks show called illumiNations: Reflections of Earth is controlled on top of the building. I'm scared of fireworks! But while looking at the pictures of the show, I definitely want to see it! It looks amazing! Each show costs around $17,000. Wow!



MOROCCO

This was designed to look like a Moroccan city with a realistic Minerat. This is the only pavilion which is supported by the country's government. The Gallery of Arts and History is where you can learn more about the history and culture of Morocco.




NORWAY

It was designed to look like a Norweigan village. It features 4 kinds of Norweigan architecture: Stesdal-style, Bergen-style, Oslo-style and Alesund-style. The village includes a detailed Stave Church and a restaurant that resembles one in Oslo.


UNITED KINGDOM

The pavilion is made to look like a British village which have stuctures based on the different periods in British architecture. Disney characters like Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins and Pirates of the Caribbean appear here daily.



KIM POSSIBLE BOOTH

The World Showcase Adventure was launched last January 2009. It is based on the hit animated series, Kim Possible. It is an interactive attraction that takes place in several pavilions. It is an electronic scavenger hunt wherein guests would us a "Kimmunicator" to help Kim and Ron solve crimes. The "Kimmunicator" is able to trigger specific events in the pavilion grounds which provides clues to solve the crime. I want to try this attraction!
